Life isn’t fair
So many burdens to bear
So many unanswered prayers
And no saviour to vote for
Some live in excess
While the rest live with less
Full of fear and with stress
And little to hope for
There’s no way
The world is gonna keep on
Turning like this
There’ll come a day
It’s all gonna blow up
Into little bits
Faith erodes
Politicians got their hands in
With the C.E.O.’s
They reap what we’ve sown
And stash it all away
Where no one will know
So many people in need
But those who lead
Driven by greed
Keep controlling the lever
While they distract
By disguising the facts
It’s no surprise we react
With a rising fever
There’s no way
They’ll keep getting away
With the games they play
The people will rise up
And pour into the streets
One of these days
There’s a tension
Building it in the air
Like a coming monsoon
A rising dissension
Starting with a spark
And then kaboom!
Back in time
1789
Public anger
Starvation
Nobody had a dime
The only rich were clergy
And the nobility
While all of the taxes
Were paid by peasantry
Time for change
Time for democracy
No more divine right
Of the king
No privilege of elite
The people
They shouted
'Down with the monarchy!
No more estates!
No more war!
We want equality!'
Past now present
It’s happening again
Just like back then
Nobody learns
The anger that fills
It slowly builds
And soon overspills
Revolution returns
There’s no way
The world can escape
Repeating history
It’s all taking shape
The ground will start to shake
You just wait and see
All of the kings
Will reach down
And scramble for their
Broken crowns
The poor will rise up
While the walls of Babylon
Come crashing down
